I'm not exactly sure why Minot is the Magic City but that's what they call themselves. Home to Minot Air Force Base and its squardon of B-52 bombers, Minot is not far from the U.S.-Canadian border. It's very flat in this part of the world and in the spring and summer it is a beautiful landscape. There are a few attractions outside of town within an hour's drive which is also through some of the prettiest country you're liable to see in this country. But there isn't a whole lot to do in Minot proper and not much to see. Hunting and fishing are popular activites. However, if you're like me and have to be here on business (this is my third trip in 4 years), I can at least provide a couple of tips to help make your stay enjoyable in terms of where to spend the night and where to grab a bite to eat.
Oh, and do yourself a favor...don't schedule your trip before Memorial Day or after Labor Day or you may experience snow. |
