"Sebring for Business" Sebring by Hopkid

Actually it's Avon Park for business

On two occassions I've had to come down to central Florida to do work at Avon Park Air Force Range. Avon Park is a small town with not much in the way of modern accomodations so I've always stayed in Sebring, which is about 11 miles south on Florida Highway 27. Located in Highlands County on Lake Sebring, it's a destination for snowbirds and golfers as well as race fans once a year. While there isn't a lot to do in central Florida, you do get glimpses of the undeveloped and natural Florida landscape. There are many lakes with marshlands, moss in the trees, and an abundance of wildlife.

Sebring is near the Highlands Hammock State Park which serves to preserve the original Florida landscape. Also of interest is the 12 Hours of Sebring auto race which is held in March each year and is part of the American Le Mans race series. My tips here are mostly for the business traveler and the occassional traveler passing through this part of the state.

Greetings from Sebring! I'm visiting my Dad who retired down here. If you're ever back here, there's a pretty good Mexican restaurant right on Lake Jackson.
