Doing New York

What a City

We planned our trip well in advance as two of our travellers are disabled. We were not disapointed, We all had a wonderful break and would recommend to anyone wanting that little bit more. We found NYPD very helpful, and did not experence any problems in getting around the city.
We stayed at Hotel Pennslyvania, on 7th avenue, rooms are basic, but we only slept and showered there. we were on the 5th floor, little noise from street below, but cannot complain about hotel for the price we paid. Checking in and out was very easy, coffee shops downstairs offer breakfast, with mcdonalds just 2 doors away, Maddison Square Gardens just across sreet, great location,
Us at World Trade Centre

So much to do

We wanted to get the best out of our short stay in New York, arrived on sat 10th dec, checked in at hotel, at 8pm, and hit Macys, OH MY GOD, what a store, they have everything you could want, we shopped till 11pm, and returned to hotel for feet rest and much needed sleep, getting up the next morning we purchased tickets for greyline open top bus for tour around city, We had a great time, sitting on top deck with guide talking as we went around, We got of at World trade centre, It seemed so much colder here than anywhere else in New York, very sad, getting back on bus, getting off at Times Square, WOW, It was just getting dark, with all the lights, just fantasic, we went into Toys R us, maddness, 6 hrs on a bus may not be eveyones cup of tea, but we loved it, we got of at Macys, for dinner, and carried on shopping teill late into night,
View of NYC from Helicoptor ride

We want to do it all....

Day 2, Following a trip to the Top of Empire state building the night before, we experenced no queues what so ever, The view is just breath-taking, We walked to Times Square, looked around the huge buildings, shops etc,and carried on till we reached Central park, we jumped into a Horse & carridge ride, just $40.00, Then caught a cab, to Liberty Helicoptors, and had the best trip of our lifes, booking is advisable, $160.00 for 20 mins, but Wow, worth every penny, catching a cab back to Times Square, stopping at TGI,s for lunch, yummy burgers, doing a little more shopping, Going home the next day, we jumped into cab, to JFK and returned home, with many goodies and wonderful memories if New York
