Hidden Treasures...

That's what I seek. What is it that you want?

Live With Real Purpose
Now I know that the tourist perception of San Francisco is very distinct. But, lucky for you, there is a lot more to the city than Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, and the Golden Gate Bridge. San Francisco is actually not a very large city physically - 46.7 square miles - so it's a bit easier to see all the city proper has to offer than other larger cities that are more spread out. Everything is pretty compact together and there is a good public transportation system to get around with if you don't want to drive around.
Ok, ok. Here's a pic of the Bridge for you. Happy?

Don't sell yourself short.

You absolutely have to try at least one unique restaurant in San Francisco. Cuisine has become one of the biggest parts of the culture of San Francisco, and just sticking to tourist areas to eat would be selling yourself WAY short. And contrary to what some might think, the prices of some great restaurants are no more expensive than most other places you'd consider eating at. And even if it is a little bit more, how much is it really worth to spend $20 on a dining experience you won't forget for a very long time?

Beyond eating, there are numerous museums that are worth checking out, as well as a lot of natural scenery the city around and shopping and... Like I said, don't sell yourself short for God's sake.

Pros:"Restaurants. Culture. Energy."
Cons:"A lot of chilly weather. Pier 39."
In A Nutshell:"A fun city to be in!"

Helpful tip on the stinking rose; i have read a lot about it and was wondering whether it was more of a tourist trap than good cuisine

Geez, is it only $40? I live in NYC and just got a $110 parking ticket. I'm moving to San Fran.
