When I was in Tripoli, Lebanon, I met someone who told me Amman was a "village". Unfortunately, I found this not to be a gross overstatement. It's not a very large city (only 1 million people) and I didn't find much life to the areas I was in. Perhaps I didn't explore as much as I should have. But in comparison to Beirut, Tripoli, Damascus, Aleppo, and Hama - Amman holds very little in comparison. |
Philadelphia?? Amman was named "Philadelphia" by the Ghassians, until it was changed to Amman. |
