"Iona, Nova Scotia" Iona by no1birdlady

The Highland Village is a collection of historical buildings moved to the site to form a village where you can see the progression of Scottish Nova Scotian life from the earliest sod house they lived in before emigration to N. Am. and then the progression from an 1800's log cabin, to a 1920 frame house. The village also has a school, blacksmith, general store, barn, carding mill and a church. Most are from between 1830 and early 1900's. There are costumed guides who tell you about life back then. This is the only place we visited in Iona.
