Asheville is in the Blue Ridge Mountains

Asheville is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. You can get on the Blue Ridge Parkway here and travel either north or south. It's main attraction is Biltmore Estate, which reminds me of the palaces you see in Europe. Built by the Vanderbilts, It was finished in 1895. Furnishings are very opulent. The gardens here are beautiful and are as much an attraction as the house. Also in Asheville is the N.C. Botanical Garden at Asheville where you can walk trails and view plants native to the Blue Ridge Mountains.

    Looks like you had a nice visit to Asheville. I haven't been to the Biltmore for a long time. I think I need to remember to go there for a few days next April. The pics are lovely! Did the ticket include the winery? Marcia
