Sinjah was once a small town in the former Blue Nile Province, but is now the capital of Sennar State. This new status is bringing development to the town, especially in agriculture and cattle breeding. The cattle markets are particularly popular, attracting merchants from all over the country.
Singa lies in the west bank of the Blue Nile, 375 miles from Khartoum.
