A friend and I went to Nassau for our Reading Week(read: Spring Break for Cdn university kids) last week (mid Feb. 2005) and it was awesome!!
Nassau is a very beautiful colonial city with the nicest, most courteous and considerable people that I've EVER met (and I'm Canadian, so that's saying something!!). At the end of the week, both of us were seriously considering doing petitioning our schools to let us stay there and finish our studies via correspondance.
When we went, we just missed the rowdy Spring Break crowd by a week - FORTUNATELY -. I don't think we'd have as much fun being clumped together with our drunken topless American peers. However, because of that, the city was a little quiet. It was full of families, young 20 - 30 something couples, and older retirees. This didn't leave much room for any night time action - especially since everything there closes really early (11:30 for a lot of resturants; 2am for the few bars and nightclubs). But oh well, we managed to have the time of our lives during the days to tire us out anyway. |
