After a successful drive to the Last Frontier, Spring, 2004, we're beginning our Shoulder season quest during Lent with lots of fish and chips. Finishing after the Azalea and Dogwood blooms, but just before "The Passion" is replayed...

You might remember, I had serious trouble with some animals and one nasty 23lb King Salmon during the previous adventure. She, I might add, tastes quite delicious grilled in George!

What exploits await in the land of Middle Earth? Shall I capture a Leprechaun before Saint Patrick's Day? "One of a race of elves in Irish folklore who can reveal hidden treasure to those who catch them." Thankful for Ms Jeltes and three years of Forest Hills High School Latin Classes, I'll be able to interrogate the wee being... (Ha! ha!)

One objective is locating the childhood premises of the "World's Second Greatest Caddy" in the vicinity of Paraparaumu. Happily, he will not be there. After recuperating a left hand laceration from his recent stockcar accident, he is back state-side looping for Tiger.

Our pilgrimage begins in earnest at Blackjack tables in Sin City, with me sipping a jigger of 21 year old, Chivas Royal Salute Scotch Whisky, “full-bodied and richly flavored, with a smooth and slightly sweet, lingering aftertaste”, neat, spring water on the side... contemplating Basic Strategy. Nearby lucky Momma commences financing this journey at Silver Nugget BINGO, attempting to win jackpots as she successfully did last year! Might I track down Tiger and entourage at Carlsbad (300 miles distant)... Remember my follies @ 2004 Tiger Jam VII? Prince's Musicology show failed to materialize my hoped for "mano a mano" introduction to Tiger & Elin, et al...
So, that quest remains unfinished...
