"Lexington, VA" Lexington by 72hoo
Lexington Travel Guide: 17 reviews and 56 photos
Lexington is a small (population 7,000) college town. Washington & Lee University and Virginia Military Institute are next to each other near downtown. Both Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson are buried here. We are in the Shenendoah Valley between the Blue Ridge Mountains on the east and the Alleghenies on the west. The nearby Blue Ridge Parkway and several lakes and rivers provide many opportunities for outdoor recreation.
- Pros:Small town, no traffic, no urban problems, I live here
- Cons:Shopping can sometimes be and issue, although it is improving
- In a nutshell:As scenic an area as you can find east of the Rockies
