EL Salvador (Great People)

I traveled to El Salvador in 1993. It was my first experience outside of the US. The people were wonderful with much life to give. This trip opened my eyes to the wonders of the world and beautiful people that live in El Salvador. They reached my heart and changed the view of the world inside me.

Don't Travel on a Plan

The best way to travel is to not use a travel guide. Travel with a friend or two and make your way by talking and meeting the people. The people will dance the trip with you instead of performing for you. You will see beauty and hardships… but that is the world we live in. We should all see the real thing… Right?

Living in a cooperative

If you have a chance to live in a El Salvador cooperative you should give it a chance. It is worth just know how others work and live together.

People I know from ES who've grown up as child laborers never felt more pride, responsibility and connectedness with their family. Not to say educational opportunity is bad... just reporting real experience.

I'm sure it was an awesome experience to work in a cooperative there. Best way to get to know a new culture!
