I traveled to El Salvador in 1993. It was my first experience outside of the US. The people were wonderful with much life to give. This trip opened my eyes to the wonders of the world and beautiful people that live in El Salvador. They reached my heart and changed the view of the world inside me.
My heart is always grateful to El Salvador
The best way to travel is to not use a travel guide. Travel with a friend or two and make your way by talking and meeting the people. The people will dance the trip with you instead of performing for you. You will see beauty and hardships… but that is the world we live in. We should all see the real thing… Right?
If you have a chance to live in a El Salvador cooperative you should give it a chance. It is worth just know how others work and live together.
- Pros:The People, Food and the Life
- Cons:Not sure

Good page. So much to be learned from travel. My son will be on his way from San Diego to El Salvador in a few weeks.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVELY PAGE OF MY COUNTRY EL SALVADOR... THIS IS THE MOST FRIENDLY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD... NICE PICTURES!
People I know from ES who've grown up as child laborers never felt more pride, responsibility and connectedness with their family. Not to say educational opportunity is bad... just reporting real experience.
can we expect more? ;-)
Thank you for some wrenching insights into what we might do FOR them.
