Skykomish, WA My Original HOME

This is the place I grew up and call home? It is a VERY small mountain town of less than 100 people. The local ski area (Stevens Pass) is great. There are also many great hikes including the Pacific Crest Trail! My favorite is a hike to Lake Barkely and then to Eagle Lake. The climb to eagle lake is difficult. The trail starts at a 1000 feet and ends at Eagle Lake at 5000 feet. But it is worth it; the views are great! While this photo is taken for the Seattle Times it could have been easly me. We lived on our bikes! And even after 30 years the place looks the same!

My new Puppy!

Meet Mapu! Yes....I have a new puppy. He was a puppy at a shelter and now he is mine! As you can see he is very cute. He likes to chew and chew and chew. Oh... he also loves soccer!

In My Real Life or False Life?

Ok... we all have a real life where we have a job to afford to travel... unless your rich. I am not... So I study and research insects on crops like wheat, corn, soybean, dry beans, alfalfa, oats, etc. Ok... I am what is called an entomologist and agronomist. To most it may sound a bit on the dry side. But it is rather fun and helping people grow food without pesticides benefits us all. Who knows the insect in the picture? Scientific name/ (family and species).
