"Ride of a Lifetime" Austin by KiKitC

Prior to going to a convention in Fort Worth, we took a few days, drove down to Austin and rented a Harley from Eaglerider. From Austin, we headed out to the hill country. Eaglerider has locations nationwide, check them out at www.eaglerider.com. Of course, most Harley dealers rent as well.
This was the greatest way to experience the vast expanse of Texas country, smell the mesquite and visit the hill country.
South of Blanco, a portion of Route 32 toward San Marco, is called the "Devil's Backbone" and is one of the most scenic routes in the hill country. The road is windy and can be steep. We did see an overzealous BMW rider off the side of the road, luckily moving well. As it is scenic, it can be travled by slower traffic. Relax, enjoy and stop at various gazing spots.
- Pros:Fly, ride, they clean the bike...
- Cons:The road goes on forever...
- In a nutshell:Like riding a roller coaster through a John Wayne movie.
