A little bit of everything

Wether you are into history, the outdoors, or interested in hanging out in a cool city Georgia has a little bit of everything. It has a slightly sketchy past but that is just it.....that was the past. While the Northern boarders with Russia can be interesting there is too much to see here to worry about the Russians and their bombing runs over deserted cities. Some of the locals claim they are caught in the middle of a tug of war with Russia pulling on one end and the other being yanked by Iran even though there is no actual boarder with the Islamic Republic. Now is the time to visit as tourism is just begining to catch on and European air carriers such as CSA Airlines recently launching limited service. When I planned this trip I was going to spend a week here but at the last minute a buddy talked me into heading down to Armenia and taking the train to Tbilisi from Yerevan...I ended up taking a mini bus since the locals think the train in the same manner was most Americans of Greyhound.
A salt lake on the way to Davit Gareja
Georgia even has what the locals call the desert which is on the way from Tbilisi to Davit Gareja. When I was there it was quite green but the locals assured me that during the warmer summer months the gras would die off.
The salt lakes along the way are a great place to bird watch. During my trip we spotted an eagle sitting in the grass hills.
