"Red Sea Coast" Port Sudan by flynboxes
Port Sudan Travel Guide: 21 reviews and 104 photos
I did it right this time for a change..went out to the coast at the end of my trip instead of the begining...a 12 hour bus ride from Khartoum and here I am along one of the least visited stretches of the Red Sea coast. For the most part Port Sudan is an industrial port with the passenger ferries headed in and out of Suakin about an hour South of here. On the other hand Port Sudan has an airport for those wishing to avoid the overland trip from Khartoum and it is where most of the dive boats are home ported. In fact for most tourists this is the most they see of Sudan as the often opt to avoid Khartoum all together. While there is no Club Med here there are a few nice hotels and two resorts up the coast if you are looking to escape to a secluded spot.
- Pros:Few tourists
- Cons:More tourists than in Khartoum
- In a nutshell:A great escape from the interior of Sudan

Hello. The visa for Azerbaijan was a nightmare - messed up my schedule completely. I did have a good time, but the guidebook was out of date. By here mean Tunisia? Nice place if you pay about $50 for a 2 day southern tour by bus. Worth every single penny.
