Tachie Menson Lodge: Abidjan's secret

Stayed here for two nights. One when we first arrived from Accra. A local businessman from Ghana told us about it on the bus. This has to be the best deal in Abidjan...not the best location as Treichville is not a place you want to walk around at night but it is guarded and the noise since it is inside the STC bus station does not start till around 8am. The folks at the bus station will flag down local cabs and negotiate a fair price for you to get around the city. Depending on traffice it is around 10-15 min from Le Plateau and the heart of Abidjan.
They have a couple of rooms with AC for 10,000 CFA and an few just with fans. only had problems with mosquitos in one room. You can pick up spray at a local shop in Treichville and fix that. It is about a 10 min walk to the Gare de Bassam where are the buses to Grand Bassam and other points leave from. It's a couple of bucks in a cab to get to some decent restaurants.

Unique Qualities: Kim and I liked this place for the price as others cost a bit more and since you are only going to sleep here why pay more. It was clean and the staff was friendly
