Got beach? - Grand-Bassam
Hotel Koral Beach: Got beach?

Did not stay here but this is another hotel right on the beach. There are several that line the beach here. Maybe slightly more upmarket than Boblin but a beach is a beach. It is a bit closer to everything in case you don't feel like walking that far. It also has a restaurant and a bar

Address: Blvd Treich Laplene

Comparison: about average

Directions: Grand Bassam

On the Lagoon - Grand-Bassam
African Dream: On the Lagoon

Did not stay here but at 10,000 CFA per night we should have giving it a shot. Did not see to much traffic here since it does not sit directly on the beach (it is a 5 min walk from it) If you are walking from the bus stop to the beach you will pass this place on your left. I don't think it has the appeal that the beachfront places do but it does have it's local charm.
I've listed the web address below so check it out on your own.

Address: Blvd Gouveremeur Angoulvant

Comparison: less expensive than average

Directions: Near Ebrie Lagoon

Bassam Resort - Grand-Bassam
Etoile du Sud: Bassam Resort

If you have the $$$ this is probably the best place to stay in Grand Bassam (the beach is a bit idiryt due to all the hawkers nearby but the hotel is modern and beautiful.
If you are walking in from the bus station you cannot mis the place. It also has the most beach frontage of any of the hotels on the beach.

Unique Qualities: The Ritz of Bassam

Address: Blvd Treich-Laplene

Comparison: more expensive than average

Phone: 21-302939

Hotel Boblin la Mer: Beaching it in Bassam

Boblin was one of the cheaper places we could find on the beach. For 12,000 CFA per night we got A/C that worked, private loo and a queen bed that was in good shape. The place like the rest is popular on the weekends so call ahead if you plan to spend Fri or Sat night here.
Staff speaks enough English to get by and you are steps from the beach.

Unique Qualities: Just a great place to relax. The bar gets busy on the weekend but they have several padded lounge chairs set up on the beach. Be weary of the beach as there is a bit of a shore pound so if you are not a strong swimmer you will need to stay close to shore. During the weekends the beach gets a bit crowded but during the weekdays you a likely to have th beach to yourselves.

Address: Blvd Treich-Laplene

Comparison: less expensive than average

Directions: Towards the North end of Treich-Laplene. At 20-30 min walk from the main bus station in the city center or a 1,500-2,000 CFA cab ride.

Phone: 21-301418

Price: US$20-40
