Ghat is the old camel caravan junction in the middle of the Sahara. One of the first Europeans to visit this place was Hugh Clapperton in 1822 |
| | Nice accomodation These huts are found just outside (southwest of) Ghat. There is a bed in each hut. The place is equipped with hot&cold shower, WC and a restaurant. Very nice after some hard days or weeks in the desert. |
| | Tuareg symbols Ghat was one of the important places for 'the blue people' (the Tuaregs). |
