"Kelso - A trainstation in the desert" Kelso by gubbi1

On the way back from my short trip to Las Vegas, I made an additional overnight stop in Barstow to have a day in the Mojave National Preserve. Kelso is a central place in the preserve. Here you find the Kelso Depot, a former train station of the Union Pacific Railway Company.
Nowadays the depot is the home of the Visitor Center of the Mojave National Preserve. Many of the interesting sites in the preserve are located in the nearer surrounding. Beside the possibility to ask the rangers for information, you can also visit an exhibition, which explains you aspects of the nature in the Mojave. Another part of the exhibiton are restored rooms of the depot.
