Close to Riedholz there is a beautiful nature spot waiting for you to be visited, the Eistobel. This ravine is a nature protected area and gives a great weekend walk. In any time of the year the Eistobel is enjoyable. In summer the water cooles the air, in winter the waterfalls are freezing to thick layers of ice.
To hike through the Eistobel you can park on either side, but the parking at the huge bridge (Street 1318) is easy to find. I noticed that the marker for Riedholz set by VT is exactly on the middle of the Eistobel. Just a little north, where the street crosses the river 'Obere Argen', you will find the parking.
Starting the hike you will first need to descend several stairs down to the small river. Once you have managed this, there are not too difficult ascends or descends. You will enjoy the hike. |
