"Beautiful Gorge of Hiidenportti National Park" Sotkamo by gubbi1

Looking through the pages of Outdoor.fi (the official page of the National Park Authorities of Finland) I came across the Hiidenportti National Park. I already heard of if it during my year in Finland, but forgot it until my preparations. Hiidenportti National Park offers a very great scenery. Main attraction here is the fascinating gorge that stretches over a few hundred meters through the park. If you hike you will walk along the rim and then climb down to the bottom of it.
At the entrance of the park you will find information boards that explain about the geology, fauna and flora of this interesting place. Also you will find a map with options for hikes and the services provided like resting places, toilets etc.

My hike through the park stretched over 3,5 km. So it was not too long, but with the varying landscape a very beautiful hike.

During my visit mushrooms were growing everywhere. Many of them are very beautiful.
