"Jostedalsbreen Nationalparkcenter" Stryn by gubbi1

With rather bad weather and a poor visibility I decided to skip the glaciers of Norway. But on my drive I passed the Jostedalsbreen Nationalparkcenter and thought that at least this exhibition would fit into my holidays. So I stopped and entered the center. Here you will find an exhibition about Norways glaciers, the geology, Flora and Fauna, Avalanches and how people lived with the glaciers. With these different aspects in an inside exhibition plus a film, a garden with regional plants and an exhibition of various Norwegian rocks it is very interesting.

The main photo above shows you a model of a rock slide that once happend not far away. The mud and rocks that fell into the fjord caused a tsunami.

In the area outside of the building you will find a garden with plants. They have signs that tell you their name.

Very interesting are the rocks. If you have travelled in Norway already a little some areas where they picked the rocks will be familiar to you. Each rock is sanded at some point, so you can see its color and pattern.
