"Undredal --- The goat town" Undredal by gubbi1

Taking the road E16 from Gudvangen eastwards you will drive through a really long tunnel. After it, before entering the next long tunnel you can leave the road E16 and drive down to the village Undredal, which is located at the Aurlandsfjord. Here it seems that much is about goats. Not only that you will find a small monument of a goat, but also you can buy goat cheese that is made of goat milk from the goats that are held higher up in the mountains.

An architectural site that you should see is the smallest church of Scandinavia dating back to 1147. In fact the church is a Stave Church, which is hardly seen. Unfortunately it was closed when I was there.

My plan here was to stay overnight, but the camping area was just renewed to a modern camping (new washing and toilets), which did not allow a nice place. Anyway people were really helpful and suggested me a place, but as it was not reachable by car it would have been to complicated. For what I have seen there, I am sure that the new camping will be recommendable. It is in the center of the village.
