"Short Stop at Abisko NP" Abisko Nationalpark by gubbi1

On my drive home to Oulu (Finland) coming from my holidays on the Lofoten I passed the Touriststation of the Abisko National Park. Here in the far North of Sweden even in beginning of June winter was still present. As the drive was pretty far I decided to stop here to relax a little. Already on the way to the Lofoten I saw the waterfalls and now took the chance of taking photos.

Not only the waterfall and the rapids are impressive, but the whole package of this wide natural beauty. Abisko NP is known to have some nice hikes, unfortunately I was just passing through.

In case you drive here, have a look for the characteristic mountain formation of the Lappenporten. It is an opening inbetween two mountains easily to be recognized.
