We have been to St. Maarten 3x. It is called the Friendly Island and they are very friendly. You need a car to explore. The island is divided into Dutch and French. Gambling on the Dutch side, great French cuisine on the other. The only drawback is the immigration is slow and hot.. be prepared to wait an hour in line.
