Well where to start?. Firstly I have to say that you have to put everything in context.
You get what you pay for? It is a no thrills basic Hotel (in my opinion).
Rooms are compact and basic,no Tea making facilities,No Tv (But then you have the view outside ).
Our room had a shower and basin with a hidden wardrobe, a table and two chairs.
The Decor is very retro possb 70s with flowered brown wallpaper.
The beds are basic, but like i said you get what you pay for and i don't want you to think these are moans?.
It was unique in its quirky kind of way, however here comes the Bombshell? if you are staying through a travel company,ours was Travel scope (now Phoenix holidays.co.uk), you could be staying in the hotel or the guest houses around the town.
We stayed in the guest house No2 on the hill.
There are 2 on the hill one opposite is an annex and another about 1km up the road by a bridge.

Unique Qualities: Great views depending on which place your staying at?.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay in Altenahr.

The staff were very welcoming and polite, we were booked in with no fuss and an early call booked.
If your traveling with travelscope i would personally recommend catching the coach from here.
It takes approx 2hrs to drive from Ipswich,and at �62:00 including 4days Free Parking it was worth it.
As a result of catching the coach here, we were able to get a good nights rest with a fantastic cooked breakfast in the morning.
beats traveling for 5hrs in the early hours.

Unique Qualities: Modern Hotel, comfy bed with on suite ,sat telly, phone .
There is also an on site gym too if your feeling energetic.
