I have an interest in history so I'm always drawn to the historic buildings, cathedrals, castles, monuments, etc. When you consider the art that is often on the inside and outside of those buildings, then you really have a winner of a place to visit. If you are able to find your way to these places during those few times when other tourists are absent, then you've really struck gold.

Then again, I am a real outdoor junkie. Almost all of my domestic vacations are spent in natural wonderlands so it's a good thing I live in California. I think my international visits are more to city than country beause access is easier.
