"Interlaken" Interlaken by chesterridenour

Interlaken is an amazing little town. Situated between two pristine lakes, this is the quintessential Swiss town. Cows roam the fields and sometimes some people's backyards. All the houses are small little ranches. With one bank, one grocery store, it's almost too good to be true.

Interlaken is a great place for outdoor adventure activities. Skiing in the winter, canyon jumping, sky-diving, paragliding, hiking etc ..

Stay at Balmer's or one of the other hostel's there if you go. The atmosphere is chill, relaxed, yet social and fun at the same time.

Buy a friend or loved one a real Swiss Army Knife with their initials/name inscribed as a great gift!

I arrived towards the end of the ski season in late March/early April, so the snow was a bit slushy towards the bottom of the runs. The views are amazing though and there are man y different runs of all levels of difficulty.

Town of Interlaken below

For a great view, hike up the trails nearest the river and opposite the big mountains like Jungfrau. You'll have a great view of the two lakes, the town and be able to put the beauty of this Swiss gem into perspective. Pack a lunch and enjoy yourself after the ~ 1 hour hike up.
