My most recent trip was to Zurich where I met up with my friend from South Africa who had never seen snow. Well she saw plenty of it this holiday, it snowed several days which I believe is unusual for Zurich. We found the city extremely expensive and the people very friendly. The city is small enough to walk around but we were going to do a walking tour around the old town for CHF 20 but our guide got hit by a car so that was halted. We did a few bus tours which were nice taking us outside city limits & into Leichestein.
By the way prepare yourself for almost all food to be served with potatoes & no vegetable. Ordering a green salad will mean a bowl full of only cabbage like green leaves.
We found ourselves buying cheese, ham & rolls for a day out & water then just purchasing soup to keep warm at restaurants. |
| | Lecheinstein Remember watching Heidi on tv well this is the place & I believe in summer you can go to her village & perhaps meet Pieter with his goats.
We certainly had to wear all our clothes like she did |
| | Mt Titlus & Lucerne Unfortunately when we got to the top the visability was poor and there was so much snow we were unable to leave the enclosed area.
On a clear day this trip includes a trip on an ice flyer over the glacier & a fun snow slide. We had to settle watching the video. The snow was too soft to build a snowman.
This was my friends first time seeing snow so guess she really maxed out this trip!!. Five layers looking like the michelan man and still cold!! |
