Set in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside on the banks of the river Avon is this pretty town famous for being the birthplace of William Shakespeare.
Unfortunately I visited Stratford-upon-Avon shortly after arriving in the UK & have decided a return trip is on the cards.
This picture is taken inBancroft Gardens & is known as the Gower memorial completed in 1888 & moved to this spot in 1933. The statue is surrounded by 4 other statues of Shakespheare characters. |
| | Canals This is a pic of my aunt & uncle at the Stratford Canal basin by Bancroft Gardens.
It is my understanding that you can rent canal boats for journeys along the river. |
