Taxi into the city Airport - Transportation to Copenhagen Center Review

A taxi to the center of town from the airport can cost you approx DKK 180-200
Tips are not required unless he helps you with your luggage

We took a taxi ride as we were late, although our hotel said it would take us 10-15min walk, the cab charged us DDK80 which I thought was a bit steep

Clean buses Airport - Transportation to Copenhagen Center Review

The 250S bus runs from The airport to the centre of town and various stops beyond, handy if you have a hotel en-route. The cost is DKK27 & it takes about 30min depending on traffic

You can use your stip card on buses & metro so you punch in the time when you board. Stamp twice for 2 zones & travel for up to an hour on the transport.

S- Metro - Copenhagen
S- Metro Metro Review

The S-metro is a way to get around town quickly all stations are marked by red hexagonal signs with a yellow “S” in them – rather superman like
Trains run every 10 – 15min btw 5am & 12.30am
There is a lift for bicycles, wheelchairs & pushchairs
Routes are colour coded and for convenience of planning there is an electronic display screen that lists departures from Central station
The metro operates on a driverless system so the bonus is you can sit up front & pretend you are steering the train. Be warned though if you get motion sickness the front of the train is not for you as the train hurtles through dimly lit tunnels

Traditional Christiana bike - Copenhagen

Traditional Christiana bike

Bicycle is a common mode of transport Bicycle Review

Bicycles are a common way to get around the city and you can either rent one from Osterport Cyckler Oslo Plads www.oesterport-cykler.dk or Kobenhavens Cykler (central station) www.rentabike.dk from DKK75 for a day to DKK340 for a week.
Deposit DKK500
Copenhagen operates a free city bike system during the summer months, the bikes can be recognised by colourful discs in the spokes. A DKK20 deposit is required & on returning the bike to any of the 110 designated racks throughout the city you can get your deposit back. We never saw 2 bikes together so we could not take advantage of this scheme.

An architectual delight - Copehagen Airport Airport Review

Copenhagen airport is quite spectacular and it is fairly large so just when you thought you were almost by the exit it seems you are not. When you exit the plane you continue through to arrivals where you collect your luggage & exit.
Bear in mind also that when flying back the train brings you into terminal 3 & it is a brisk walk to terminal 2 if you are flying Sterling like we were.
Thank goodness for those little trolleys - we only bought hand luggage although strange it seems to get heavier the more you walk

I flew sterling airlines from Gatwick which are a budget airline flying to Copenhagen.
The flight was comfortable & the crew friendly. Food & drink can be bought in DKK or Euro
