Name of Shop: Curiosity
If you are looking for something special to take back for a gift, a memento of your trip - then my advice is to head to Kalk Bay which has a fabulous variety of antique & crafty shops with everything from jewellery to pewter design table ware. I purchased a corkscrew from this shop "Curiosity" which is a pewter cheetah designed by up & coming South African designer Diana Charmichael. Ultimately shopping here will give you perhaps something more unusual then one would find at the waterfront.
What To Buy: handmade leadfree pewter tablewear, wooden animal salad servers, bracelets, Ethnic & Guinea fowl crockery & table wear, Ostrich eggs, beaded crafts .... the list goes on. Truley a magnificant shop with a friendly helpful sales assistant.

Name of Shop: Shopping Malls
The Shopping MAll at the V&A waterfront combines the opportunity to clothes shop at designer and SA based stores. Also there is the red shed indoor market and another market which house various crafts and curios. This is the perfect place to shop for a present, unique to SA, for a loved one. Do be aware though that prices may be on the higher side then you may find elsewhere as the rentals are high but definetly a time saver. Also in the Waterfront there is a host of restaurants, bars and coffee houses just perfect for the hungry shopper or the bored husband
What To Buy: Beaded crafts, leather, handpainted fabrics etc
