Restaurant Name: Panchos
Fancy eating good mexican food in a vibey restaurant for a reasonable price then look no further. Pancho's is in the heart of Observatory, a fairly arty suburb where musicians showcase their talent. Margaritas are served in large jugs & are seriously good. Do bear in mind this restaurant is always busy & if you don't book then you will have to wait sometime for a table. There is a smoking area as well as an upstairs - plenty of atmosphere & tequila to go around. I believe you can order takeaways & also doggy bag your leftovers as the portions are fairly large. Sadly on my last visit we were not able to get a table so therefore the lack of picture. They open evenings from 5.30 to late.

Restaurant Name: Touch of Madness
This old victorian house has been converted into a very a very happening bar as well as rooms to mellow out in as well as a dining area. There are a mixture of couches and antique chairs in the rooms, with a fireplace for chilly evenings. The bar staff are extremely helpful being a bit on the flamboyant side but then the place is aptly named a touch of madness. I enjoyed their homemade beef burger with separate side sauces whilst my friend had the Chicken fillet, both were very generous portions with delicious fat cut chips. We then moved on into the more intimate sitting room to indulge in Kaluha Don Pedro's. The bill came to R176 before tip incl wine. One of the sitting rooms are designated as smoking.

Restaurant Name: Quay Four
Outside eating area right on the waterfront. Have the seagulls staring hungrily at your steak & chips. Food is fairly dominated around fish but you can get burgers & steak here. A bit more pricey but then this is the waterfront, there is a posh restuarant upstairs.

Restaurant Name: Dunes Restuarant
A good variety of food and cocktails are offered here with tables in the full sunlight, under shade or inside. Do be aware that service here tends to be rather slow. Prices range btw R45 - R75 on average for a main meal The cocktails are huge so be careful how many you have if you are designated driver. Good place for sundowners or candlelit dinners. Backs onto Hout bay beach & sometimes have concerts here.
