Swan Lake | The bridge at Swan Lake Hotel |
Tianjin is an industrial city. We visited there because we were organising some manufacturing.
We really enjoyed visiting Tianjin as we had a wonderful host who looked after us so well. We stayed here, at the Swan Lake Hotel. It was a very pretty place with perfectly manicured grounds. If you wish to see more about this hotel, check my accommodation tips. |

| | Food wonderful food The food was my very favourite part. The restaurants that our host, Heng took us to were not the type we would normally have frequented, as a lot of them looked a bit grotty, but WOW! I still crave the foods we ate, as there is nothing like that here in Australian Chinese restaurants. In China they eat a lot of carp which they call "grass fish" (freshwater). It is a delicious fish, moist and soft, good for the stew -type dishes it is used in.
If you travel to Tianjin at all, you must try this local specialty bread, it is absolutely delicious. Unfortunately the room was a little dim for my pocket camera and the picture is a little grainy. |
Late night massage After our evening meal quite often we would go to a massage house (4 of us). We all had a massage in the same room and it was a lot of fun as the young girls are absolute darlings.
Chris (foreground) lives mostly in Perth and also in Malaysia. He set up our business dealings with Heng (background). We had such fun with these two. Heng was the most gracious host and Chris made us laugh all the time. | | | Chris and Heng. Chris is making us all laugh |
