Mandurah - the Australian lifestyle!

Sunset over the water
As it was a long weekend, we decided to visit our friends that live on the canals at Port Bouvard in Mandurah.

We went on Sunday afternoon as we'd stayed in Perth to have a VT lunch on Saturday at Hillary's Boat Harbour. Saturday night, a group of us went to King's Park for "Symphony Under the Stars". The night was absolutely perfect. It was warm and still with city lights flickering in the background.

We arrived Sunday afternoon, and after a few drinks on their back patio (which faces the canal), we got into the boat and took a ride out of the channel to watch the sun set over the water with a glass of champagne.

After the sun set, we returned to our friends' house and had a BBQ of the day's catch of dhufish and crayfish (lobster) outdoors, overlooking the water. We continued well into the warm, calm evening.

Pulling Cray Pots

Today we had a late breakfast then got into Mark's boat and went to pull his cray pots. We found three very good sized crays awaiting us.

We then went about 6 miles out and went fishing. Although we got plenty of bites, we only caught two fish, but we had a fantastic day out. The day was 33 degrees with blue skies and a whisper of a breeze. The water was calm and deep blue. It is so clear you can see very deep into it.

The Canal

After returning home and opening a couple of bottles of champagne and wine, we had an early dinner.

On the way back to Perth we visited some other friends of ours.

We got home and had a spa bath.

All in all, another perfect weekend in Perth!
