Miscellaneous: I take a can of Evian spray with me every time I fly. It is not only useful for cooling off when out in the heat, but sometimes I find the air on the planes to be so dry that my throat and nostrils begin to burn and my skin and hair dries out. I just spray the Evian into the air and onto my face for instant relief.

The small, light and inexpensive can fits into any bag easily. A travel must-have.

Miscellaneous: My latest arrival here has just reminded me that the humidity causes a lot of fluid retention in my feet and legs until my body adjusts after a few weeks.

Ensure you bring shoes with an adjustable strap or ones that are very comfortable with some extra room in them if you are likely to be affected by it as shoes get so tight and uncomfortable otherwise.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: You will find it fairly to excessively humid here, depending on the time of year. Sudden showers of rain or perspiration will leave you wet, 'though not cold. If you wear loose, light clothing, your body will be able to breathe and the fabric will dry quickly.

Miscellaneous: Just to give anyone travelling to Australia from Thailand forewarning that these electric/battery operated mosquito zappers are illegal. Australia is the only country in the world to ban the importation of them and they will be confiscated from you at Customs - AFTER you've unpacked your bags and done all the paperwork.

I explained that they're so safe I couldn't even zap Steve when I wanted to, and that young children use them in Thailand, however they say that they are classified as Tazars here. Customs said that we may splash old people with water, then zap them which could cause injury.

How did they ever find out about our favourite new hobby?
