Post Tsunami
It was very unfortunate that we didn't get to see this beautiful island in all it's glory.
The tsunami well and truly changed our holiday, but at least we were safe, unlike many others.
These pictures were taken on the 20th January, so quite a lot of work had already taken place.
Sand, sand and more sand
Tonnes of sand were dumped onto the island. It is amazing how much sand can be carried by water!
A Beautiful Island
From this picture you can see how beautiful this island is and can imagine how beautiful it will be once restored.
Pros and Cons
- Pros:Beautiful clear water and white sands
- Cons:The tsunami
- In a nutshell:A stunning place

I love you pictures
...more sand that have been "relocated" far away from the beach by the wave... Not sure if I visited this island last time, but those remote islands are defiantely worth a visit.
Going to Thailand in October and looking for a place to relax. Racha Yai sounds good & I hope most things have been restored now
wow, amazing.
Hey Tina. I don't know what to say. This place looks gorgeous!! But what devistation! Still can't get me eyes off those gorgeous beaches!! Wow!! Cheers, Ann :o)
Thanks for showing this pics, I was wondering....I loved this Island a lot and I hope to be back some day
Very sobering photos that give us a small reminder, but still show the natural beauty of this place. Gr8 words & pics complement each other Tina.
