Scranton is a city of approximately 100,000 people located in northeastern Pennsylvania in the United States. It had its heyday in the late 1800s and early 1900s, when the area's anthracite coal mines were among the most productive coal mines in the United States. Mike's grandfather worked in a mine about 20 miles south of Scranton. Scranton's primary attractions today are the Steamtown National Historic Park, which is a museum dedicated to steam-powered trains, and the Electric City Trolly Museum, which is located next to Steamtown. Nearby, there is also a coal mine that offers tours.

Hey, great to see another Steamtown page! I've only visited during the middle of winter when the train and trolley excursions weren't running.
