Restaurant Name: Pasta e Pollo

A small (around 10 tables) low-key italian restaurant with good food at reasonable prices. They are tolerant of small children. They also do takeout. Like many restaurants in New Jersey, they do not have a liquor license, so you must bring your own wine/beer. There is a liquor/wine/beer store about 100 feet down the street.

Restaurant Name: Baumgart's Cafe

A geat casual family-friendly restaurant that combines good Chinese food with homemade ice cream. They also deliver if you don't want to leave home. You have to bring your own beer/wine, because they don't have a liquor license.

Restaurant Name: Latour

An upscale French restaurant in downtown Ridgewood featuring Manhattan-quality food in a non-stuffy atmosphere. The Chef/Owner, Michael Latour, cooked at a number of restaurants in Manhattan before going out on on his own in the suburbs. The restaurant holds around 50 people. It does not have a liquor license, so you need to bring your own wine. Two wine strores are located within a 5 minute walk.

Restaurant Name: A Taste of Thai

A Taste of Thai is a reasonably priced family-friendly Thai restaurant in Ridgewood. It is somewhat small (capacity is about 30 people), but a very cozy and friendly place to have dinner. It is our favorite of the three Thai restaurants in Ridgewood. They are open for lunch on weekdays (Mon-Fri) and dinner every night.

Favorite Dish: Our favorite dish is the shrimp Panang curry. It features shrimp in a cuury made with coconut milk, bell peppers, and lime seasoning.

Restaurant Name: Lisa's Turkish Kitchen

Lisa's Turkish Kitchen opened in early 2007, and is off to a good start. It's menu features a wide variety of Turkish appetizers, entrees, and desserts. The service is friendly, particulalry the owner Lisa, who personally greets the diners at their tables. Mike's favorite is the mixed grill, which features a variety of lamb and chicken kabobs. There is no kids menu, but our 6-year old daughter enjoyed the fried Calimari. Lisa loved the fig dessert.

The restaurant does not have a liquor license, so you need to bring your own beer and wine. It is open for both lunch and dinner.

Hana is a small Japanese restaurant in downtown Ridgewood that serves sushi and sashimi, as well as a variety of cooked dishes. The interior decor is rather plain, but the service is very friendly and the food is good. It is also not as crowded as some of Ridgewood's other restaurants, so you can usually get a table on short notice. Hana is kid-friendly and they also deliver if you don't want to leave home.

Restaurant Name: Wasabi

Wasabi is a small Japanese restaurant located about 3/4 mile east downtown Ridgewood in a residential neighborhood. It has a sushi bar and also serves a variety of cooked entrees and appetizers. THe service is friedly and they are very kid-friendly. Wasabi is where families go for Japanese food if they don't want to fight the crowds trying to find parking in downtown Ridgewood. Wasabi also offers take-out service, but not home delivery.
