Rocky Mountain National Park preserves a section of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, USA. It is easily accessible by car from Denver (about a 2 hour drive). The main road through the park, which is closed during the winter, takes you up to 12,183 feet at its highest point. As you climb higher and higher, the scenery gets more and more magnificent, with snow covered mountains and deep valleys.
- Pros:Beautiful, ruggged mountain scenery
- Cons:Getting stuck behind RVs on uphill roads
- In a nutshell:Some of the best scenery in the United States

Colorado has some of the prettiest parks to enjoy and some that are very seculded. My dad loved finding the most remote camping and fishing area he could find. Nice page!
Nice photos. Longs Peak is a great hike when your daughter is a little older, even if you don't go all the way to the top.
Driving up to 12000 feet must have been fun; but RVs going uphill are no fun if you're right behind them
Wow, you got a great shot of an Elk in FULL headgear! We were there last month and saw hundreds of elk but they were all bald. :-)
