Intercontinental Praha: A nice, conveniently located hotel   Check Rates

  • This is the hotel where we stayed while in Prague. It is very conveniently located aloong the Vltava River, about three blocks from Old Town Square and one block from the Old New Synagogue. We were able to easily walk from it to all of the major sights in the city within twenty minutes. There are also a number of good restaurants within a ten minute walk from the hotel.

The hotel is expensive, but the convenience was worth it. The rooms were nice and it had a business center with a broadband connection. Its indoor swimming pool and health club were also a major plus. The restaurant on the top floor was very overpriced; however, the food in the lobby bar/restaurant is perfectly fine as an alternative if you don't want to venture outside on a rainy evening.

The concierge service was OK, but could have been more user friendly. We tended to use our guide books instead. One thing that was convenient was that the hotel had a car rental office in the lobby, which we used to get a car for a day trip into the countryside.

Unique Qualities: This hotel is the only one in Prague with an indoor swimming pool, which our daughter loved.

The Powder Gate looks quite unique. Interesting that they stored their gun powder in a tower.
