Expanding my horizons

by travelingrobNIU - last update: Apr 9, 2006

Coit Tower in SF

Places so far

We'll I've traveled outside of the US six times, but 5 of those were to the same country, the Philippines and the other was France. I'm kind of jealous of my brother, who never traveled much when we were younger but now that he's older he's traveled to around Europe. Well hopefully my summer of 2006 we'll be adventurous.

I'm planning on trips to:
London
Amsterdam
Melbourne (visiting a cousin and her husband)
Imperial Palace, Las Vegas

United States

Well, i'm 25 and have been to Las Vegas about 7 times. As much as I like it, I realize I should see more places. I just got back from San Francisco at the end of March. Also, I was in San Diego and Vegas in August 05, with one more trip to Vegas in Dec 05. I've seen L.A, we have relatives in the area. Orlando was a usual trip for families of course. And can forget the road trips to Detroit to visit my dad's uncle. What memorable times on 294 :)

Hopefully I'll get to see N.Y, Boston, Seattle, Portland, Miami, Key West and even the Dakotas seem interesting to me!

Meeting people

On my last trip from San Francisco, I sat next to this girl who was happening to travel to Paris and Berlin. We spoke of our adventures and I was fascinated that she returned from a trip to Southeast Asia, where she was able to see Angkor Wat. I found that extremely cool that she was so into traveling and found out all her friends travel too.

In college, I was able to meet up with so many different foreign classmates, many I call friends today. My good friend Steve came from Ghana, where I truly would love to visit, especially Western Africa. My other friend Emrah came from Turkey and he would describe his country with so much energy that I would have loved to pack up and go visit. Many other friends came from my Southeast Asian classes I took, many were Asians but surprisingly many were Americans who like myself were fascinated by the world and its people.
