Tips on Using Mobile Phones abroad. I have had extensive experience trying to get the best deal on using a mobile phone outside of the United States. This information applies to just about any country including the US, here are my tips for getting great rates and the most from using your mobile phone while away from home. Here is my sollution: Overview: By taking advantage of free incoming calls that most GSM phone systems around the world use, I buy a local prepaid SIM card in the area I am traveling. Overseas charges from mobile phones can be hefty. Check out http://www.uwtcallback.com/ I have used them for 2 years now and their prices are fantastic and they have really responsive customer support. If you travel often it is an amazing service. If you are just going on one trip using a local phone card might be easier, getting the service set up and familiar can require a bit of used to. |
