Taos Market Square..

There is a lot of beauty in and around Taos but once you leave the center of Taos the rest of the community looks pretty impoverished..Which is surprising since so many celebrities are supposed to live up in this area..There are also quite a few posh resorts tucked away back in the hills also..Some you only hear about and probably will never see..

So although the surrounding area is pretty it's best to stick with the main town square for any sort of shopping or site seeing..unless you REALLY enjoy seeing people living in squalor..It made me sad in a way because from what I understand Taos likes to keep out commercialization, they are trading tradition for poverty In my opinion because the only economy there seems to be tourism and art work which kind of go hand in hand..
