I protested against Fred Phelps' group of protestors. This flock of imbeciles hit Bay Minette because 1) Fred Phelps is a Christian cult leader perpetuating the flow of hatred and ignorance within the church and the hatred against anyone who disagrees, and 2) three teenagers tortured and killed an 18-year-old homosexual in Bay Minette. This compassionate Phelps went there to protest the church that held his funeral and, for good measure, the other churches in the area, which he accuses of allowing gay people to live in the community, thus causing Hurricane Ivan to hit the area and, just to be even more of an ideologue who enjoys being hated, causing Sept. 11 to happen.
Look closely at their shirts, and you'll see them plugging their own websites - www.godhatesfags.com and www.godhatesamerica.com.
For the record, I believe in free speech. Hate speech - not too happy about it, especially when it comes close to inciting riot. A kid, someone's child, had just died. The Southern Poverty Law Center tried to block their protest for those reasons, but that didn't work. So, the protest went on, people went to church as usual, and me and a group of high schoolers with a few other people were there to voice our opinions. Our own free speech.

Kaspian mentioned this "religious" group, and another group who blocks them from being seen my families of soldier's families at funerals in the Misc forum. Thanks for sharing. It's hard to believe this church thinks they are doing good work, isn't it?
