Berlin is an amazing city. I think every tourist who comes here has a brief list in mind of what he or she wants to see. That list probably includes seeing some remnant of the Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, the Brandenberg Gate, Tiergarten, and that awful, awful TV tower.
But I discovered that Berlin is so much more than the typical touristy sights. The city is HUGE, meaning that there are so many colourful neighbourhoods to be seen that are off the beaten path.
Berlin has an energy. There is always something going on somewhere, and it feels like everyone is doing something that's just so cool.
I thought Berlin was going to be one big living monument to the horrors of WWII, and was pleasantly surprised to discover I was wrong. |
