Soft golden sand and the hotel was only across the road from here!
Currency: the Euro
Language: Spanish (Catalan)
Nearest large town(s)/city: IS Alicante.
When I was there in June 2001, I used to go into the sea at 2am. It was lovely and warm and very good for the feet, walking along in the sea.
This build ing in Alicante looks very similar to the 'Flatiron' in America. There are a couple of Irish bars along this road but you won't find any Irish people in them. They are done as a theme only and Spanish are their main clients.
This colourful walkway really comes alive on a Sunday afternoon when all the Spanish after their lunch and in their best Sunday clothes walk up and down. (To aid digestion?)
- Pros:Lovely harbour and marina.
- Cons:Very built up retaining heat like an oven.
- In a nutshell:You must see Alicante not just Benidorm.
