Transportation: Train to Alicante or Denia

Getting TO/AROUND: If you have no transport and you fancy travelling by train, then you go to Alicante or, in the other direction, go all the way to Denia. FGV operates the narrow gauge train service. FGV stands for Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana which translates loosely to Valencia Railways. There is a minus though. Benidorm's station is right at the top of a hill that is a 15 - 20 minute walk from the sea front.
But when you return, the trek from the railway station is all downhill.
A journey to Alicante takes about an hour but the diesel trains are air conditioned.

Getting TO/AROUND: Benidorm railway staion is the starting point for the 'Limon Express',
I recommend booking in advance or, if you are part of a package holiday, your tour rep. will do this for you if they havn't got a scheduled trip from the hotel anyway.
This is a tour train that runs to Denia and back with balcony ended carriages like in the wild west albeit with a diesel on the front. The train is equiped with a bar on board in the Cafe car.
