Restaurant Name: A taste of India

Indian Restaurant
An excellent menu sellection in comfortable surroundings. There is a patio to eat outside in warmer weather. You don't feel crammed in. There is ample space between tables. The food is very good and moderately priced. I eat there a lot and could recommend it to anyone who likes Indian food.

Fully licensed.

Favorite Dish: Chicken Dupiaza is my favourite dish, but all the other meals I have had there are eqally as good. Booking in advance is not usually necessary, but this is a popular restaurant.

Restaurant Name: Big Al's (La Torna)

English Cafe - Bar A wide sellection of food is available here, from Bangers and mash to Roast Sunday lunches. Tea and coffee can also be taken here along, of course, with draught San Miguel etc.

Whilst this is listed as a restaurant, everyone is perfectly welcome to drop in just for a beer or coffee or pot of tea.

La Torna has just changed hands (Summer 2005) but the tradition of good food is carried on by the new owners and will continue to be known as Big Al's.

There is a covered terrace to the side where drinks and meals can be consumed al fresco. Waiter service to all tables is available.

San Miguel on draught here.

Favorite Dish: My personal favourite is Steak in Ale pie. It is reasonably priced and you will not go away hungry.

Restaurant Name: El Nino

Spanish Restaurant
I cannot comment on the food here as I only popped in for a drink. But every night (winter) the restaurant seemed very busy. You get a propper Spanish flavour at this place with the hams hanging up (and not just for show). The decor is very Adalucian. and very comfortable looking.

Beer here is Alhambra - Very nice.

Favorite Dish: As I say, I only popped in for a drink but a very nice few glasses of Alhambra beer was consumed.

Restaurant Name: The Codfather

English Fish & Chip Bar
Civilised isn't it ? Why can't they do one of these here in England ? A fish and chip restaurant with a drinks bar. Heaven !
There is terraz outside at the rear and usually tables outside at the front as well as facilities inside.

Opening times:
Closed on Sunday evenings and all day Mondays.

Favorite Dish: All good.

Restaurant Name: Havelli

Indian Restaurant
Here is another excellent restaurant serving Indian quisine. When you first look into the place you may be forgiven for thinking that the place is empty, and I always recommend "do not eat in a resaurant with no people in it", however if you enter and walk through you will find how big the place actually is. Everyone, in warm weather, is outside at the rear dining underneath the stars by cadle light. A truly romantic and unforgetable experience.

Fully licensed.

Favorite Dish: On my last visit I ate meat Biriani, but have eaten many dishes here which are all good.

Italian Pizzaria
A lovely restaurant with rustic settings where you can eat inside or outside on the large terrace at the rear.
A wide menu is available for you to choose from and eat indoors or under the stars in warm weather.

Favorite Dish: Pizza Americano and many others.

Restaurant Name: China House.

Chinese Restaurant
An excellent place to dine if you like Chinese food is Chinese House. This is a truly large and popular restaurant.

All the usual Chinese items are on the menu plus a few more that you (certainly I) may not have heard of.

For those who like to eat their Chinese at home, (for home read apartment or Villa), they do a take away service. (Last take away orders 11.45pm). They will also deliver.

Fully licensed.

Favorite Dish: Spare ribs, Beef Chow Mein, Chinese beef Curry, Chop Suey, Beef in Black bean sauce, Spring Rolls.........The list is endless and all good.

One thing only. Sauces are a lot thinner than we are used to in the UK.
This is not a reflection on this particular restaurant. All over Spain, Chinese sauces tend to be thin.

Restaurant Name: The Dragon Inn

Chinese Restaurant
Another excellent Chinese restaurant is the Dragon Inn. Once again, all the usual things you expect to be on a Chinese menu are available.

This restaurant is a bit smaller than the Chinese House but none the worse for this. Food is well presented and very good.

Take away service is available here too.

Fully licensed.

Try it. You will not be dissapointed.

Favorite Dish: Perfect ambience. All food is good, I would have to list the menu!

Restaurant Name: Thelma's Kitchen.

Thelma's Kitchen is just out of Nerja at the El Zoco complex. This is only a small restaurant but the food is great. Th efood is cooked fresh so you may have to wait a little longer than in the ordinary Indian restaurant.

There are only a few tables inside but there is an extra area for eating outside under a canopy in the summer.

There is a reasonably sized area for parking but it does get filled up quickly.

Favorite Dish: Goan Chicken is the best I have ever tasted.

Many steps at 'El Zoco', so not good for wheelchairs.

Directions: From the road island at the top of town, East to the second island from the starting point and turn left by the Hipersol supermarket. The complex of bars and reataurants are all together. Thelma's is on the top floor next to the Bull Ring Fish & Chip bar.
